Embrace the Brutiful Journey

As I prepare to celebrate another journey around the sun, I find myself reflecting on the wisdom gained at this stage of life. Like everyone else, I experience my share of highs and lows. Life's tapestry is woven with moments of challenge and triumph, and my own path has been no exception.

It's been a journey of "brutiful" moments, beautiful yet brutal. As writer and advocate, Glennon Doyle eloquently expresses, “Life is brutal. But it’s also beautiful. Brutiful, I call it. Life’s brutal and beautiful are woven together so tightly that they can’t be separated. Reject the brutal, reject the beauty. So now I embrace both, and I live well and hard and real. My job is to wake up every day, say yes to life’s invitation, and let millions of women watch me get up off the floor, walk, stumble, and get back up again”.

Life’s beauty and brutality are inseparable. Embracing both allows us to live fully and authentically. It's a philosophy of personal growth and resilience I wholeheartedly embrace.

The brutal is found in many things. The pain and suffering in the world. Systems of oppression, violence, war, genocide. Grief and loss. Betrayal, heartbreak, death of hoped for futures and of dreams. Navigating Trauma, isolation and loneliness. Not feeling good enough. Not feeling worthy. Not feeling loved.

The beautiful is also found right along side the brutal. The beauty is what emerges from the brutal. It is the hope in an imperfect world. Good people, doing what they can to make a difference.  Learning, healing and growth. Acts of love. Resistance to violence and oppression. Glimmers, growth, resiliency. The goodness of kind, open-hearted humans. The innocence of children. The breathtaking beauty of nature. Sources of unconditional love. Spiritual support and guidance. Coming back to knowing I am/we are all enough, worthy, loved, loving and unique expressions of love itself.

My hope is that you can continue to find the beauty that is intricately woven in the brutal.

At this phase of the journey, I am also in the process of birthing a new venture. A new "business baby," if you will. Inspired by my personal and professional journey of scientific and spiritual path of healing and growth. You will be hearing a lot more from me about tips for how this connection can support us in living a full, inspired life. Without the toxic bullish*t that can all too often come in 'so-called' spiritual spaces. We are both human being AND spiritual beings, and this cannot be fully separated. We need ways to honour ALL of ourselves.

Thank you for being a part of this journey—one that's as beautiful as it is challenging. Your presence adds to the richness of this shared experience. Together, let's continue embracing the beauty within the brutality of life.
