Sometimes Intuition Arrives as a Whisper

One of the biggest misconceptions about intuition is that it arrives with certainty.

As though one day a lightning bolt strikes, everything suddenly makes sense, and you confidently leap into the unknown.

That hasn't been my experience.

More often, intuition arrives quietly.

As a whisper.

A gentle tug.

An idea that keeps returning long after you've tried to dismiss it.

It may grow “louder” from there.

Over the past year, there has been one message that continued to surface for me.

Not as a detailed business plan.

Not as a strategic marketing idea.

Just a simple invitation.

"Gather the women who have been doing the work."

It would come during the times when intuitive guidance is most likely to arrive. The times outside the busyness of the thinking mind.

During meditation.

In those quiet moments between sleeping and waking.

While out walking.

Sometimes in the middle of completely ordinary days.

The guidance wasn’t loud.

But it was persistent. And I have learned how to listen over the years. I can more easily catch the subtle messages. (Something that took time and practice to get to).

Learning to Trust the Next Step

People sometimes ask me how I trust my intuition.

The truth is...

I don't trust every thought that pops into my head.

I don't believe every feeling automatically points me in the right direction.

As a psychologist, I know our minds are beautifully complex. We all have fears, hopes, projections, old wounds, unconscious biases, and nervous system responses that can shape what feels true in the moment.

Discernment matters.

For me, intuition isn't about abandoning critical thinking.

It's about allowing intuition and wisdom to have a seat at the table alongside evidence, experience, reflection, and reality.

(As a psychologist, I don't believe every intuitive feeling should automatically be followed. Sometimes anxiety can masquerade as intuition. Sometimes wishful thinking can too. That's why I don't ask whether something feels spiritually exciting. I ask whether it aligns with my values, whether it creates more integrity, whether it continues to resonate over time, and whether it can withstand thoughtful reflection. For me, intuition isn't the opposite of discernment, it requires it to truly be useful).

And perhaps most importantly...

I don't expect intuition to give me the whole map.

It rarely does.

Instead, I ask:

"What is the next small step?"

Not the next ten.

Just the next one.

Following the Thread

That first step wasn't announcing a new program.

It wasn't redesigning my business.

It wasn't making a huge leap.

It was much smaller than that.

I reached out privately to a handful of women I deeply respected.

Women who had been committed to their own healing and personal growth for years.

I simply shared what had been on my heart and asked if they would be interested in hearing more.

Their responses surprised me.

Again and again, I heard themes such as :

"I've been feeling this too."

"I've been looking for something exactly like this."

"This feels like what I've been missing."

Those conversations didn't "prove" anything.

But they did give me enough information to take the next small step.

And then the next.

Co-Creating Instead of Controlling

One of the biggest lessons this experience has reminded me of is that not everything meaningful has to be forced into existence.

Some things unfold.

Instead of trying to control every outcome, I've been learning what it feels like to co-create.

This is the process of co-creation with our soul taking the lead and our ego doing the leg work of the logistics to bring it into the world, one step at a time.

To listen.

To respond.

To stay curious.

To let something develop through relationship rather than rushing to manufacture certainty.

Ironically, that's not so different from therapy.

Healing doesn't usually happen because we force change.

It happens because we create the conditions where growth becomes possible.

Why Women's Circles Feel Different

There is something deeply moving about gathering with women who have already been doing their own inner work.

Women who have learned to take accountability.

Who are willing to repair after conflict.

Who value curiosity over certainty.

Who understand that strength and tenderness are not opposites.

Women who are connected with their own intuition and aware of subtle (or not so subtle) energy within and around us all.

There is an energetic power and container that is co-created.

The energy isn't competitive.

It isn't performative.

It isn't about proving who is the most healed, the most spiritual, or the wisest person in the room.

It's quieter than that.

It feels more like remembering.

Remembering that we were never meant to carry everything alone.

Remembering that healing is both personal and collective.

Remembering that there is wisdom available when we come together with humility and open hearts.

An Invitation

That quiet whisper eventually became Divine Feminine Rising.

Not because I had every answer.

But because I trusted the next small step. And I have been on this path long enough to have built enough trust to know that there is a deeper wisdom in the source of these whispers. That they are our connection to something larger than our human selves and ego’s alone.

This fall, I'll be opening another intimate cohort of women (maximum eight participants) who are longing for a space that brings together psychology, embodied healing, spirituality, and authentic community.

It isn't therapy.

It isn't traditional coaching.

It's a facilitated circle for women who have already been doing the work, who are both spiritual and grounded and feel called to continue growing alongside like-minded women.

If you feel curious, I'd love to invite you to learn more.

There is no pressure to join, only an opportunity to explore whether it feels like the right fit for you and for the group. (And a call is required before joining to ensure everything feels like the best fit).

A Reflection

As you move through this week, perhaps ask yourself:

What quiet whisper keeps returning to you?

Not necessarily one that asks you to change your whole life.

Just one gentle invitation that continues to appear.

And if you listened...

What might the very next small step be?
